昨日は先日、大阪、うめきたにあるWaldorf Astoria Osakaで開催された「Connections Luxury Asia Pacific 2026」にて、金継ぎ体験を提供させていただきました。
今回は、世界各国から集まるラグジュアリートラベル業界のBuyer / Sellerの皆さまに向けた特別な体験プログラム。
通常は2〜3時間かけて行う金継ぎジュエリーのワークショップを、1セッションわずか15分という限られた時間の中で、engraceの活動や金継ぎについて説明し、かつ金継ぎの魅力を感じていただける体験を提供するというミッションのもと、体験を提供しました。
しかも開催はすべて英語。
1日で全11セッション、1セッション8名、約90名の方にご参加いただきました。
限られた時間の中でスムーズに進行できるよう、金継ぎする手前までを135点事前準備し、各セッションごとの素材のセッティング、展示サンプルの用意、引き換え券や注意書、popや当日のマニュアルの制作、当日の体験方法から動線まで、ほぼすべてを一から考えて準備しました。
少しでも綺麗な英語を話したくて、英語も台本を作って暗記練習、時間が限られているのでストップウォッチで時間をはかり何度も練習。
正直、ここまで大変だとは思っていなかったです。
ラグジュアリー層に向けた体験としてのクオリティを保ちながら、英語で進行し、厳しい時間制約の中で11セッションを回すこと。
そして、そのための準備を制作以外はほぼ一人で進めること。
今まで経験した仕事の中でも、かなり大きなチャレンジでした。
ほぼ全ての回は満席で90名近い方々にご体験いただき、たくさんの金継ぎジュエリーが旅立ちました。
完成したものを嬉しそうに見せ合っていたと伺い、たくさんの方々から高評価をいただけたました。
一流のホテルで世界のluxury travel buyer＆sellerに実際に体験を提供する貴重な機会をいただけたことに感謝しています。
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to provide a special Kintsugi experience at Connections Luxury Asia Pacific 2026, held at Waldorf Astoria Osaka.
This program was created for luxury travel buyers and sellers from around the world.
I redesigned my usual 2–3 hour Kintsugi Jewelry workshop into a 15-minute experience, including an introduction to engrace and Kintsugi, while still making it meaningful and enjoyable.
All 11 sessions were conducted in English, with 8 guests per session and nearly 90 participants in total.
To make everything run smoothly, I prepared 135 pieces in advance, organized all materials, displays, collection tickets, instructions, manuals, and the entire workshop flow almost entirely by myself.
I even wrote and memorized an English script and practiced repeatedly with a stopwatch.
It was honestly one of the most challenging projects I have ever taken on.
Most sessions were full, nearly 90 Kintsugi pieces were created, and I was so happy to hear that guests were proudly showing their finished pieces to each other and that the experience received wonderful feedback.
