少し前になりますが、アメリカ・フロリダ州にある Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens へ、130点の金継ぎジュエリーを納品しました。
2024年11月から始まったお取引も、今回で9回目。
累計納品数は760点を超えました✨
今回は、Morikami Museumで開催される「KINTSUGI」をテーマにした展示に合わせて、いつもとは少し違う、存在感のある Statement Jewelry を数多く制作してほしいというお題を頂き、海外出張や委託販売の納品、ワークショップの隙間を使って地道にコツコツ制作しました。
（嘘です。ギリギリになって慌てて最後の最後で必死に制作しました笑）
本当に時間がなくて、でも手は抜きたくない、新しいものを作るには研究もしたいし時間もかけたい、でも時間が、、
というジレンマを超え、出来上がった作品たちです。
（本当はもう少し花器なども作りたかった😣）
複数の陶片や天然石を組み合わせた、大ぶりのロングネックレスの、胸元を華やかに彩るデザインには、着脱しやすいマンテル金具を採用しています。
そして今回、新たに力を入れたのがメンズジュエリー。
大小さまざまなネックレスをはじめ、カフス、タイピン、タックピンなど、男性にも金継ぎジュエリーを楽しんでいただけるよう、アイテムの幅を広げました。
メンズにはシルバーを多めに取り入れ、銀継ぎの色合いにもこだわりました。
明るすぎず、落ち着いた上品な輝きを表現するため、純銀をはじめ数種類の錫などの金属粉の配合を何度も試し、engraceらしい銀の色を追求しました。
チェーンもいろいろ買い揃えたのですが、変色しにくくアレルギーにも対応のサージカルステンレスチェーンを全てに使用。
そのほか、大ぶりのブローチやバレッタ、バングルなども制作。
いつも以上に手間と時間をかけた、華やかで個性的な金継ぎジュエリーたちが、海を渡ってフロリダへ。
日本の陶磁器のかけらが、新たなジュエリーとして生まれ変わり、遠く離れたアメリカの美術館でご紹介いただけることを、とても嬉しく誇りに思います。

We recently shipped 130 pieces of Kintsugi jewelry to Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Florida, USA.
Since our partnership began in November 2024, this marks our 9th shipment, bringing the total to over 760 pieces! ✨
For Morikami Museum’s special exhibition themed around KINTSUGI, we were asked to create bold, eye-catching statement jewelry.
Alongside our statement necklaces combining Japanese ceramic fragments and natural gemstones, we expanded our men’s collection with necklaces, cufflinks, tie clips, and lapel pins.
I also experimented with different blends of metal powders, including pure silver, to create a subtle, sophisticated silver finish unique to engrace.
Oversized brooches, hair clips, and bangles were also part of this special collection.
Each piece was carefully handcrafted between overseas trips, workshops, and other projects.
It’s such a joy to see Japanese ceramic fragments given new life as jewelry and shared with people across the ocean.
