This is a Kintsugi SDGs Obidome (Sash Clip) upcycled from Arita ware.

We reuse broken, chipped, or otherwise unused pottery, applying Kintsugi to remake it into accessories.

The concept of the work is to allow people to feel nature and long-standing Japanese traditions close at hand, reborn as modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities.

I combined Tokachi-ishi (Obsidian) with a pottery piece featuring a Japanese pattern that carries an oriental atmosphere.Since Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery piece, the gold stands out even from the side, producing a refined look.

＊"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair technique that joins broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. This work is created using modern "simplified Kintsugi" techniques, so unlike traditional Kintsugi made from the sap of the lacquer tree, adhesive is used for the bonding itself.The Kintsugi parts use lacquer (manufacturer-made paint, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), and UV resin is also used for reinforcement purposes.
