This is Kintsugi SDGs jewelry upcycled from antique Ko-Imari ceramics.

We reuse broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use, applying Kintsugi to transform them into accessories.

The concept of the work is to allow people to feel nature and long-standing Japanese traditions close at hand, rebirthing them into modern accessories that lead to the future and creating new possibilities.

These are elegant ceramic shards decorated with floral and traditional Japanese patterns.The ceramic shards alone have a strong presence.

Since Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the shards, the gold stands out even when viewed from the side, creating a sense of refinement.

*"Kintsugi" is a traditional Japanese repair technique that joins broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. This work is created using a modern simplified Kintsugi technique, so unlike traditional lacquer made from the sap of lacquer trees, an adhesive is used for the bonding itself.

The Kintsugi parts use lacquer (not raw lacquer, but a coating made by a manufacturer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), and UV resin is also used for reinforcement.
