This is Kintsugi SDGs jewelry upcycled from Kyoto/Kiyomizu ware by Fukuiku-gama, a kiln based in Uji City, Kyoto.We reuse broken, chipped, or otherwise unused pottery, applying Kintsugi to remake it into accessories.

The concept of the work is to allow people to feel nature and long-standing Japanese traditions close at hand, reborn as modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities.

I combined a sophisticated gray pottery piece decorated with floral patterns with a freshwater pearl.Since Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery piece, the gold stands out even from the side, producing a refined look.

The ring size is 17 mm (generally equivalent to Japanese size 13, but varies by brand). As it is an adjustable type, the size can be expanded, making it suitable for anyone.

＊"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair technique that joins broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. This work is created using modern "simplified Kintsugi" techniques, so unlike traditional Kintsugi made from the sap of the lacquer tree, adhesive is used for the bonding itself.The Kintsugi parts use lacquer (manufacturer-made paint, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), and UV resin is also used for reinforcement purposes.
